Since the fire destroyed many of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s works at the Glasgow School of Art, Kelvingrove Gallery and Museum has become a major destination for Glasgow Style admirers, a characteristic part of the Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau movement of the early 20th century. Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Glasgow Style Gallery were created and opened shortly before the fire. There are numerous Mackintosh rooms, as well as other outstanding artists of this movement. Along with other notable treasures – Van Gogh’s portrait, Bronze Age tools and jewelry from Arran and Kintyre, spitfire Mark 21 Spitfire from 1944 and great organs from 1901. Used for daily free concerts – one of the most popular museum exhibits is Christ from Salvador Dali Św. John of the Cross.
